Hugh Simon

Chief Executive

Hugh Simon has over three decades of asset management and investment experience across multiple asset classes and strategies in Asia, Europe and the US. He started his career with Schroders in London, Australia and Hong Kong before joining Lazard in 1984 to establish their offices in the Far East (Hong Kong and Japan) where he was responsible for investment management and marketing for the Asian region.

Hugh founded the Hamon Investment Group in 1989 to initially focus on public markets investments for institutional clients looking for exposure to the higher growth Asian markets.  An entrepreneurial   visionary with deep conviction of Asia’s long term economic growth potential, Hugh has over 30 years of Asian regional investment experience and is a strong advocate of collaborative institutional partnerships. He strategically steered the group’s evolution into a multi-strategies platform by expanding expertise and product offering through acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

For 18 years while Hamon managed assets for BNY Mellon, Dreyfus funds and institutional clients looking for exposure in the Asian region, Hugh built and led a team that managed top performing relative and absolute return funds in Asia for the most part of that period. Under Hugh’s leadership, Hamon have deployed and managed in excess of USD 2.8 billion of capital across various strategies and asset classes since inception.

Edmond Wong

Group Chief Operating Officer

Edmond Wong joined Hamon in 2007 and is responsible for formulating and implementing business strategies while overseeing group finance and accounting, fund administration, settlement, operational risk management, company secretarial and regulatory compliance functions. He has over 27 years of experience in strategical planning, business ideas execution, operations, finance and risk control in the financial sector, having previously worked at Chase Manhattan Bank, Indosuez W. I. Carr Securities and Dresdner Bank AG in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Hamon, Edmond was Chief Operating Officer of a technology venture.

Edmond graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a BBA and obtained his MBA from Warwick Business School, UK. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), an Associate of The Chartered Governance Institute (ACG) and an Associate of Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute (HKACG).

Doris Ng

Head of Business Development

Doris Ng joined Hamon in 2022 and has over three decades of international investment banking and private equity experience in capital raising, strategic business and corporate development, debt and equity capital markets, corporate advisory and specialized funds management activities. She is responsible for strategic projects, business development and capital raising at Hamon. Founder of a regional strategy consulting firm, Doris was previously at AIF Capital, Macquarie, Credit Agricole Indosuez and Schroders plc. She holds a BBA from the National University of Singapore, and has lived and worked in Singapore, London, New York, Hong Kong and Beijing.

Douglas Eu

Director

Douglas Eu has over three decades of experience in the asset management industry where he has held senior leadership positions in various global institutions including JP Morgan Asset Management in Hong Kong as MD & CEO, as well as its Asia-Pacific Head of Distribution. He also served 14 years with Allianz Global Investors, initially as its CEO (Asia-Pacific) and later as CEO of Allianz Global Investors US, based in New York. He is also a long-time Global Executive Committee member at Allianz. 

Douglas has extensive experience in successfully growing asset management businesses in the US and Asia, including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, India and South Korea. He also has hands-on experience in portfolio management and leading fund managers specializing in China.

Douglas is an innovative leader with expertise in turn-around strategies, spearheading organization and technology change, aligning operating processes, and developing targeted strategies to grow businesses and teams both locally and globally. He is well versed in regulatory-related issues, corporate governance and product marketing and distribution.

Siddhartha

Founder
(Intain/In-D)

Siddhartha is the founder of Intain and IN-D, two technology start-ups which provide powerful AI technologies for digitalization and processing of massive unstructured documents. He has held executive leadership and board positions in several financial services operations and technology conglomerates including State Street HCL Services, where as CEO, he set up and scaled the business to a multi-city/country custody and fund administration operation platform. Siddharta also served as the Chairperson of an FCA-regulated Insurance Administrator in the UK.

Mark Acree

General Director
(Hamon Properties Mgmt Ltd)

Mark Acree is the General Director and co-founder of Hamon Properties Management Ltd in Vietnam. He has over 18 years of experience in Vietnam’s real estate sector, with a strong focus on the management and development of high-end residential properties. Mark is the General Manager of Nguyen Du Park Residences, and heads the management company for The Albany where he has led the team in providing top quality service for several luxurious residential properties in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Raul Guillermo Ante-Diaz

General Manager

Ante-Diaz is the General Manager of Madame , the renowned stylish Chinese fine-dining restaurant in Central, Hong Kong.  He has over 15 years of experience in managing F&B operations, client relationships and large-scale events, and has worked in Spain, Beijing, and Hong Kong.  Before joining Madame Fù, Ante-Diaz was Director of F&B of The Arca Hotel, Yulan Group.  He has also held senior positions in the Gaia Group, Jamie’s Italian, and The Ovolo Hotel Group.

Richard Dunbabin

CEO
(Chester Rose)

Richard Dunbabin is the CEO and founding shareholder of Chester Rose Ltd., an independent financial advisory (IFA) firm. He has over 35 years of experience in the financial advisory industry, where he started his career as a pension consultant before building his own IFA business in the early 1980s. Richard later co-founded Rapidinsurance plc, UK’s first full range interactive online insurance provider which he later sold to a leading IFA, and took up a consultancy role with Marsh, one of the world’s leading financial services providers. He completed thirty acquisitions in the following 13 years and has extensive experience in the M&A of IFA businesses.

Nicholas Woolcott

Nicholas Woolcott is Director of Eversfield Consultants and a partner of Hamon Developments. He has extensive experience in advising on projects across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, transportation and infrastructure. At Eversfield, Mr Woolcott provides strategic management services to PFI, construction and property management organizations. He has also acted as project director for a number of entities, and assisted in their development and PFI bidding.

George Robinson

Founder
(Oxford Investment Company)

George Robinson has over three decades of investment experience and is co-founder of the successful Sloan Robinson hedge fund in 1993, where he remains a partner. In 2007, George founded Technikos, to invest and fund spinouts from Oxford University’s tech and medical research base, as well as in various other successful biotech companies. After almost a decade of partnership and investing across the full spectrum of Oxford University’s technical and medical research base, he co-founded Oxford Investment Consultants in 2015 to manage the Oxford Technology and Innovations EIS Fund.

James Mallinson

Partner

James Mallinson joined the University of Oxford as portfolio manager of the University’s spinout shareholdings in 2003. While at the University, he made a number of co-investments with George Robinson on behalf of the University in companies including Immunocore and Adaptimmune. Following his 15 year tenure at the University, he joined Oxford Investment Consultants as partner in January 2018.

Ivy Ho

Managing Director and Producer

Ivy Ho is the Managing Director and Producer of Irresistible Films, a film investment and production company established by Edko Films and Hamon Investment Group. She is in charge of developing and managing film projects, and overseeing company operations. Ivy's projects at Irresistible include films such as Anita, Love You Forever, the Cold War series, among others.

She was previously head of Marketing for Emperor Motion Pictures, participating in the marketing campaigns for The Message, Little Big Soldier, Shaolin and Let the Bullets Fly. She also worked at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society, as well as at PCC Skyhorse, a subsidiary of PCCW Limited.

Marcus Brauchli

Managing Partner and Co-Founder

Marcus leads strategy, advisory and fundraising for North Base Media (NBM). The former top editor of both The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post, Marcus has been an operating executive and advised media and technology companies in the U.S., Asia and Europe.
